About Me
I’m Chef Faisal Abbas, born and raised in Lahore, where the scent of sizzling tawa parantha and simmering daal was the soundtrack of my childhood. My culinary journey began in my grandmother’s kitchen, where every spice, every stir, taught me that cooking is not just feeding the body — it’s feeding the soul.
After earning a degree in Hospitality & Culinary Arts from one of Pakistan’s top institutions, I apprenticed under some of the finest chefs in the country, mastering biryanis in Hyderabad, perfecting hand-made rotis in Islamabad, and refining sauces in Karachi. Those years taught me discipline, precision, and the art of flavor balance
My Philosophy & Specialty
- I believe in heritage flavors presented with modern finesse. Traditional Punjabi, Mughlai, and Street foods are my canvas, with a twist only my experience allows me.
- I’m known for taking simple, familiar ingredients and elevating them through technique, careful sourcing, and a deep respect for culinary traditions.
- I’m passionate about seasonal, locally-grown produce and rarely use anything that isn’t fresh. Every dish must tell a story, where the ingredients are as important as the recipe.
What I’ve Achieved
- Head Chef at Spice Signature (Lahore), for 3 years I led a team to bring new energy to classic Pakistani cuisine.
- Featured in Food & Flavour Pakistan magazine, Pakistani Kitchen Masters TV show, and lectured on food heritage at Lahore University.
- Creator of a highly praised recipe collection that bridges old-school Punjabi recipes with light, modern plating and healthy tweaks.
- Developed signature chutneys and spice blends that are now used by boutique fusion cafés across Punjab.
Why Follow My Cooking
- Because you will get recipes that are both authentic and approachable, no exotic techniques, just real flavors, and clear instructions.
- Because every recipe comes with a story, about places I’ve learned from, people I’ve cooked for, and meals that changed me.
- Because I believe strong flavors don’t need over-complication — precision in spice, heat, and balance is what creates magic.
Fun Personal Touch
- My favorite kitchen tool: a well-seasoned cast-iron karahi, passed down from my father.
- My go-to comfort dish: Aloo Gosht with hot lachha paratha.
- Always experimenting on weekends: pickles, fusion breads, or reviving forgotten rural recipes.
